Going Trayless | ![]() |
Goodbye Trays…Hello Plates
Upper classman have probably noticed that this year there are no food trays in the University Dining Hall (UDH). This is because the UDH has gone ‘trayless’ in an effort to eliminate food waste and energy and water consumption. Studies show that on the past, students have been wasting food by everything that looks good onto their tray, but they only end up consuming 50% the food. By going trayless, we are reducing the percentage of food waste along with saving thousands of gallons of water by not washing the trays.
Fresno State is not the only University taking action! Fresno State and other Universities across the nation are not only eliminating trays, but switching from plastic to bio-degradable items such as cups, bowls, utensils, and napkins.

I am originally from the Bay Area in a small city called San Mateo where the breeze flows through all directions and the beauul crowd escapes to wonderland. This summer I went on a short vacation down to Mexico where I spoke my native language and valued my culture in a broader sense. I scramble in my life to enjoy the scenery as an individual that speaks freely of what she believes in. My favorite time a day would be the afternoon. The morning is a little to hectic but I’m definitely awake, by night I would be described as tired and busy but always available. Leaving the afternoon free to myself, I like to think of it as if I have the potential (in my hand) to reach up to the sky. I (have high self esteem with out coming off as arrogant) think highly of myself with out showing it, [it just fulfils my desire to be the person that I am]. I’m currently a sophomore pursuing a nursing degree, in hopes of fulfilling the yearning to help others in need. My fellow staff would definitely say that I’m shyly charismatic; I follow a path that leads me to all directions while being the missing piece in the puzzle. My style simplifies my character, I’m just a normal human being surrounded by the people that fill my life with questions while attending college and experiencing life on my own. To sum it all up, I would say that there is more to me than just a curious RA. |
